Today we filmed Build together
When Takeda
Kouhei-san saw this photo, he was delighted, saying “Inukai looks like a
girl! We’re a couple aren’t we, yahoo~”
I sense danger, so I think I should walk a bit further away from him from now on.

this is my favorite art program. it’s *much* more intuitive than photoshop/gimp or corel paintshop, but it still has the full functionality of a digital art program (layers, brush stabilizer, etc.). it’s not overwhelming to start on like practically every other decent art program I’ve tried, you can just pick a brush and start drawing as if it were paper if you want. plus you can download extra brushes for free! and they publish free art tutorials pretty regularly
ANYONE looking for a free art program: worth looking into.
YALL I LOVE THIS PROGRAM, especially the ipad version!! and i’m psyched that i don’t have to pay $30 a year for it anymore!!!
You think Kamen Rider or Super Sentai should do what the Metal Heroes did with some of the Space Sheriffs, i.e. pass on their powers to new characters? It could allow exposure of some of the old series while also avoiding the question of how some of these characters from the seventies and eighties are still alive in future crossovers. It will be kind of awkward in the 2030's and we are supposed to assume the Gorangers are the same people from 1975-77.
I don’t think it would be as simple as it was with the Space Sheriffs. Gavan, Sharivan and Shaider don’t have any inherent powers of their own. They were chosen to become law enforcement officers of the spaceways and given suits that grant them incredible power. Those suits can be passed on to another officer the same way a uniform can change hands or be used by someone else.
However, with the Kamen Riders (especially the Showa Era ones) those aren’t just suits. Those are their bodies that have been surgically altered and mostly replaced by cybernetic parts (or whatever was put into Amazon in the jungle). That’s not so easy to pass on to someone else. Even if they could, I can’t see Takeshi Hongo wanting anyone else to go through the Hell he did being altered and changed into a grasshopper man just to keep his legacy going.
Super Sentai is another story with a mix of the two options. I can see Himitsu Sentai Goranger passing on their powers to others and serving as the mentors to the next generation (heck I’ve even written a fanfic about that which I never published).
However, you get to the second Sentai team and you run into the Kamen Rider problem again. The heroes of J.A.K.Q. Dengekitai were all turned into cyborgs (Ishinomori loved him some cyborgs) to fight against the evils of CRIME. Heck, one of them was even brought back from the dead in the process. I don’t really see them passing on their powers to anyone to share their weird existences.
With other teams, it all really depends on how they got their powers. Were they infused into them and non-removable? Did they give them up at the end of their series? Were they something only they could use? The sheer variety of powers and origins in Super Sentai make the idea of Legacy versions of those heroes kind of hard to address as a general question. For example, I don’t really see a way to do a new version of Bioman given the way their powers were bestowed on them (the last descendants of people bathed in Bio Energy from the last survivors of planet Bio).
On the other hand, a group like Liveman, who were given powers thanks to suits created by science, I can see them about to pass on their Legacy to a new generation.
As for keeping the characters the same people in perpetuity that’s a different story. I think Kamen Rider 1′s time in the spotlight is fading and they can always use time travel (they have two Riders who can do that now) or alternate dimensions to explain why he is still around. Just have him never turn back to Hongo for the duration of his appearance. There are always workarounds to things and maybe ones for passing on the powers I haven’t thought of.
